Overview:
The Consulting System Engineer (CSE) role is primarily a technical sales role and provides critical pre sales support to the Sales Team. The CSE reports to the Director of Technical Sales.
Key responsibilities:
Technical leadership toward defined customer base
Demonstrating how our solutions deliver business value to our clients,
Clarification and information on technical capabilities
Proof of Concept / pilot participation
Key interaction point between the front end of our business and function such as Product Management, Professional Services and Engineering.
Engaging with business and technical resources within the prospect’s organisation in order to: − understand the prospect’s business and technical requirements − promote the company’s capability and credibility in the area of interest to the prospect
Liaising with the company’s Product, CTO, Professional Services and Solution Design functions to provide feedback concerning the Solution Engineers understanding of the client’s requirements.
Attending and presenting at industry events on behalf of the company
Skills & Experience:
Minimum experience of 2 to 3 years working in a presales role.
Over 5 years of experience working in telecoms.
Strong technical background with knowledge of and experience in computer systems, IP networks and architectures
Domain knowledge of mobile telecommunication networks:
UMTS (2G/3G) and LTE (4G) network architecture
Mobile data interfaces and protocols (e.g. Gn, S11- S1-U, S6a, etc)
Fixed Broadband networks, architecture and protocols
Strong knowledge of HTTP and how Over The Top applications work
Oracle database expertise
Unix, Perl or other scripting knowledge
Packet capture and analysis (protocol analyser) tools (e.g. Wireshark)
Off-the-self servers and storage hardware (e.g. HP, IBM)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to network and to develop close relationships with key players within customer organisation
Ability to influence individuals both internally and externally to have them align behind
